Preparing my motorcycle for technical inspection

I’m preparing my Yamaha Stryker (XVS1300 Custom) for technical inspection. As each inspector reads the written rules based on their mood and weather of the day – it’s a guessing game ๐Ÿ™‚ Couple of thing I had to consider (changed from OEM):

  • Number plate with tail light was relocated to the side – I hear “only harleys can have number plates not in the center behind the rear wheel”… which is dumb, there’s no such rule in official documents. It needs to be visible looking from the back, lean angle should not be more than 90ยฐ, tail light should be at specific height from the road.
  • Headlight was changed to LED – although it has all E markings for Europe certification, I was not sure about the light profile.
  • Cobra exhaust – I’m used to loud exhausts, but this one was waaaay over, I was sure it will fail, just wanted to know by how much ๐Ÿ˜€

So I have checked all the lights – distances from the ground, from each other etc. etc. so it would be according to their own rules, but boooyyyy I was wrong to assume these guys at the technical inspection will follow that ๐Ÿ˜€

If you want more inside story how these issues were solved, how long my mods have lasted and how it went the second time at technical inspection – you can find it at my:
