Dream CAR ownership – Lancer EVO X + mod list

In the past I’ve been buying stock cars and throwing a bunch of money and time to make it “mine” – usual things like suspension, wheels/tyres, audio etc. etc. This time I went with a different approach. Found one locally, already fixed and slightly modded. Thought it would be nice to actually drive a car, for once, instead of fixing it all the time 🙂 Sadly it was fixed by someone with both hands growing out of his ass. He used the cheapest parts possible, but mod list and price were good so I’ve bought it. Not that I had much to choose from – the list of available EVO X for sale was very short 🙂

4K worth of parts, some mods and fixes, 3 years of ownership and one crash later – COVID came. Work moved to fully remote, I drove it less and less so one day the decision was made to upgrade our family car park. Right before I’ve sold it wheels were painted, new tyres, AYC/ACT pump was fully rebuilt – everything worked for once 😀 It’s been for sale for about a year so optimism to get good money for it was low… Lithuanian market for these cars is very strange, when you want one – you can’t get it, when you need to sell it – noone wants it 😀 Some dude from Spain contacted me, wanted more info on the car, I’ve made some videos and pictures for him (travel was still restricted at the time) aaaaand the car was SOLD. Packed everything I had for the car, got it on the trailer ant kissed it goodbye. My heart was bleeding seeing it go away but it was time for something more 😉 EVO was a very good fun car, did everything I’ve asked from it. I did not babysit it, trashed around the town or at the track when possible, served as a family car for a while too (hauling kids to the kindergarten every day) 😀 I’ll miss it, but it was getting too expensive for a garage ornament 🙂 That’s why I have replaced it with brand new Cupra Formentor VZ (310HP AWD) – twice the price of the EVO 😀 It has very similar AWD system with torque vectoring, similar power but new technology all-around, service and, a very important point – wife was not afraid to drive it 🙂 so the Cupra was promoted to “family car” and I had to search for a new “fun car” for myself…
