Ammo Box for the Stryker

I’ve been looking for a rigid bag for my bike to safeguard the side mounted license plate and also have some storage for unplanned grocery (read: a few beers) stop 😀 I wanted to follow the textile, black theme but had no luck finding one with fitting dimensions for a long time… until I saw an ammo box fitted to some Honda online \o/ a quick search on the net and I have “Mil-Tec US Army M2A1 ammunition box cal. 50 black” on hand. You can get it used or new, black or green or just paint it, whatever 🙂 it’s very well made, thick metal, has a rubber seal too so it’s weatherproof! You can also fit a lock to it if required.

Bonus points–it fits a 1L Jack bottle with just a few millimeters to spare and a can of beer fits perfectly (vertically) too. It’s like it was designed for this purpose 😀

I’ll make some brackets to fix it to the bike’s swing arm, avoiding belt guard fixing points (these are very weak and were not designed to hold any significant weight), maybe something that all of us, Stryker owners, can print/cut without any special tools.
